Pristine condition as new
Firstly I would not have known it was refurbished. As new, boxed and packaged. I have previously owned Motocaddy and Powakaddy remote trolleys. This is by far the best, it folds up neatly , has less of a foot print the control of the trolley is much better and feels incredible stable. My observation for improvement would be that the arm of the handle feels weak at the hinge and is not as stable as the rest of the trolley. I like the included scorecard cover. The remote …I would remove the 3 small speed presets ,& replace with just one and or set 5m or 10m distance for those instances you have a clear line of sight from green to the next tee so you can send it on its way solo while you go to put. Also make the Stop and gentle stop buttons larger and pronounced.
Thank you for such a detailed review! We're delighted to hear your VERTX Remote Refurbished feels as good as new and is performing so well on the course. We really appreciate your detailed feedback and suggestions, they’re always helpful for our development team to consider and we'll be sure to pass them along to them.
Overall happy with the trolley, but it’s not without its faults/improvement potentials and I can’t find the justification for the price way above competition.
Delivery was swift and packed like it was brand new. If I’d bought this not refurbished and been sent this I wouldn’t have known.
Folding and unfolding is great and it packs up nice and small. It is easy to use on the course via the remote. The remote is nice, although a bit chunky. (Would be great to have a spot/clip to put an AirTag or similar on it in case you drop it) two stopping options and cruise control options are nice.
When I first used it the trolley veered to the left considerably. After a quick chat on here I got instructions to fix this which was easy and resolved the issue so it goes straight and true now.
I think it’s a great looking trolley- even in all black (entry level model).
The areas I think it could be improved on are….
Handle feels very weak and flimsy. Im in fear when Im trying to steer the trolley that it’s going to snap. It probably won’t, but nowhere near as strong and sturdy as my motocaddy this is replacing.
You have to take the battery out to charge it. This is a pain, and I’m not sure if I’ve missed something here on the rather basic instructions, but it’s madness that I can’t just plug this in whilst folded up.
It’s noisy. This one I wasn’t really expecting. You can hear the motor as it’s going along. By comparison both the power caddy and motocaddy remote models are whisper quiet. The Vertx is very noticeably louder, especially when running side by side as I did at the weekend.
I found the instruction booklet a nice touch but not specific enough. And had to YouTube a few things first time round like unfolding and the battery charging.
The umbrella holder that you have to pay extra for is just is a bit naff..
I’m not really sure why it has both a battery switch and a trolley power switch.
There are No control buttons on the trolley at all, so if you want to move it off you use the remote. Easy enough to do, but it can be as touch awkward to set off then manually try and steer it if you’re in a tight space with your remote in you hand (and with the flimsy handle).
Overall these points are not a game changer problem, but i think I was expecting a better quality and an upgrade from the alternatives. Someone asked me why buy this over the other two (main) brands, especially when it’s at least 20% up lift in price. The compact carrying size and the ATC is the reason, but I’m not sure that outweighs my other cons now I have it.
It’s certainly not a bad trolley, but If I had my time again, I’d probably plump for one of the others for a cheaper price, there are just more cons (for me) which you can’t tell from the website and marketing until you get it on the course and use it.
I’d rate it 3.5 stars but have given 4 stars as mine was a refurb and therefore better value.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear your VERTX Remote Refurbished arrived quickly and in excellent condition, and that you’re enjoying the compact folding design and easy remote control on the course.
To clarify a few of your points, The trolley and battery each have an off switch to prevent battery drain and put the system into sleep mode when not in use. The handle is designed with slight flexibility to help absorb shock over uneven ground, if it were completely rigid, it would be more prone to damage or even snapping. We’ve intentionally kept all controls on the remote to deliver the ultimate hands-free experience, which is core to our design philosophy. The sound you hear is due to the dual-motor system, which provides extra power and control, especially on varied terrain. We also have a number of YouTube videos on our channel that demonstrate setup, charging, and use, these might help answer some of the questions you had early on.
Your additional feedback on the handle feel, instructions, and accessories has been shared with our development team. We truly appreciate you taking the time to offer such thoughtful insights, and we’re pleased you’ve found value in your refurbished VERTX. Enjoy your next round, and thank you again for being part of the Stewart Golf community.
Excellent - taken a little while to get used to it, could do with a button on the trolly to get it going, rather than fumble the remote after Ive put my club in the bag after a shot - otherwise excellent
Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you're enjoying your VERTX Remote. We don’t include controls on the trolley itself, as the stop and start functions are built into the remote, this design helps ensure you get the full remote experience without needing to return to the trolley each time. We really appreciate your feedback and are pleased to hear it’s performing well for you overall!
I'm happy with my purchase of the approved vertx trolley build quality is good,my only concern is the handle it doesn't feel very firm and is quite flexible, other than that I'm extremely happy.
Thank you for your review! We’re really pleased to hear you’re happy with your Approved Refurbished VERTX and impressed with its build quality. We appreciate your feedback about the handle, it’s designed intentionally with some flex to absorb movement on uneven ground. Enjoy your rounds with your VERTX!
