Customer Reviews
Q Follow customer Roger Grant from Minchinhampton Golf Club
Q Follow customer Steve Porter from Minchinhampton Golf Club
The Q follow trolley I bought is good but feel it is heavy and takes some getting used to using the remote but when on follow mode it is great but would prefer if you could move it without having to use the remote sometimes especially when taking from my house .
Recently purchased. 12.05.26 Q Follow.
Overall I am more than impressed with the whole purchasing process.
Trolley is easy to set up and use.
My only gripe so far seems to be a common one....getting the battery out is an absolute ball ache!! I'm having to use a lever to extricate the battery ( so far I've used a house key or a small bottle opener)
Having spent north of £1500 on a trolley I would have thought all the teething troubles would have already been ironed out....
Overall rating 9/10 - always rooms for improvement
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really pleased to hear that you’re impressed with the purchasing process and that your Q Follow has been easy to set up and use.
We’re sorry to hear that removing the battery has been frustrating. If you haven’t already, please do contact our Customer Care team, as they’ll be happy to take a look and advise further.
This is based on using the trolley on six different courses in the UK. Generally, I’m very satisfied with the on-course performance. The follow feature performs well on relatively even fairways whether flat, up or downhill. On bumpy fairways I found it easier to use as a normal hands-on or remote-controlled trolley.
My only quibbles. When operating it manually through the remote, adjusting the speed to the ideal rate - slow down/speed up - is not as smooth as I’d ideally like. As commented by others the battery release is a real pain to operate and the button to release the handle is very stiff. However, it folds neatly and is straightforward to lift into and out of the car.
Overall, works well with a few minor gremlins - what modern electronics doesn’t!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really pleased to hear that you’re enjoying the Q Follow overall and that it has performed well across a range of UK courses.
Thank you also for your comments on the remote speed adjustment, battery release and handle release button. Feedback like this is genuinely valuable and will be shared with our development team. If you do run into any more issues with your battery release please don’t hesitate to contact Customer Care who will be more than happy to assist.
I bought the Q Follow as an upgrade from XIX (so I am very familiar with Stewart Golf trolleys). From first day of use, it has:
1. Been very difficult to remove the smart battery after use. Other friends with Q Follow or Vertex didn't report the same problem.
2. The handle release button is very stiff and will not let me set-up the trolley in a reasonable time. The first day i used it (Monday 4th May 2026) it took my friend and I about 20 minutes to release the handle.
3. I have always charged the remote after each use but in the case of this remote, it will sometimes accelerate the trolley when i press the left or right turn button.
I have made a complaint to Stewart and await how they are going to treat this issue. but it is extremely frustrating to use the Q Follow at the moment.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we’re very sorry to hear about the issues you’ve experienced with your new Q Follow. This is certainly not the experience we want for any customer, especially when upgrading from a previous Stewart Golf trolley.
Our Customer Care team are actively looking into this as of now and will be in touch with you directly. They will be offering you a replacement trolley so we can get this resolved properly and as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise again for the frustration and inconvenience this has caused.
I have been using the Q Follow trolley for a couple of weeks now and I am extremely pleased with it. It has made playing golf significantly easier and has helped save a great deal of time on the course.
I upgraded from a Motocaddy S3, which I had used for nearly ten years. However, despite it being an electric trolley, I often found myself pushing it manually. In contrast, the Q Follow comes with a remote control that allows you to steer the trolley in any direction. This feature is particularly useful around the greens, as it allows you to guide the trolley to your exit point rather than parking it in one place and returning to it after putting.
I also really enjoy the follow mode when walking down the fairways, as it allows me to focus fully on planning my next shot. Overall, I would highly recommend this trolley to any golfer looking for greater freedom and convenience on the course.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. It’s brilliant to hear you’re extremely pleased with your Q Follow and that it’s made playing golf significantly easier!
It’s great to hear you’re making the most of both the remote control and Follow mode on your Q Follow. Being able to guide the trolley around the greens and then enjoy complete freedom down the fairways is exactly what it was designed for. Thanks again for the recommendation, we really appreciate it.

FAQ'S
If you have questions about the 2025 Q Follow electric golf trolley and Stewart Golf, read on for our frequently asked questions.
Technical
How does the Q Follow technology system work?
+Mounted just inside each rear wheel, two red Follow antennas work together to create two zones around the Q Follow: a neutral zone and an active zone.
When the remote control handset is inside the neutral zone, approximately 1m from the trolley, the Q Follow trolley will remain stationary. As the handset enters the active zone, 1-3m away, the Q Follow's electronics system will automatically & independently alter the speed of each rear motor to keep its pace.
When the golfer, and therefore the handset, comes to a stop, the Q Follow will continue until the handset is back inside the neutral zone, when it will also stop. The effect is that of a digital elastic band, which stretches and contracts as you walk.
Can I set walking speeds?
+Yes, you can set the walking speed of the Q Follow. You are able to program your own walking speeds into the numbered buttons on the handset.
Can I use the Q Follow without the handset?
+The Q Follow electric golf trolley can only be operated via the handset, unless the wheels are in freewheel mode, which allows you to use the golf trolley manually if needed.
Can I use my own golf bag, or do I need a Stewart Golf Bag one?
+We recommend that Stewart Golf bags be used with the Follow golf trolleys, to get the full benefit from the Stewart Golf technology.
All Stewart Golf bags have a key in their bases that prevents any twist of the bag when in use. However, any trolley or tour bag can be used. Lightweight or stand bags are not recommended.
The Q Follow is optimised for use with golf bags weighing 14kg. Using a 'top heavy' stand bag reduces the load on the front wheels, which means the steering may react faster than intended, and a heavier bag will slow steering, increase battery consumption, and wear on key components.
How heavy is the Q Follow golf trolley?
+The Q Follow weighs 14.1kg (31lbs) + 2.5kg (6.6lbs) for the Base battery.
What size is the Q Follow when folded?
+The Q Follow's dimensions are as follows: Height: 21in (540mm) / Width: 23.6in (600mm) / Depth: 12.6in (320mm).
How stable is the Q Follow on a hilly course?
+The Q Follow series has been designed by Stewart Golf with stability in mind, providing supreme natural balance. Coupled with the retractable stabiliser to the rear, the Q Follow can navigate hilly courses with ease.
The trolley base may tip onto its rear stabiliser wheels, but if this happens, don't worry, as this is what it is designed to do.
Will the Q Follow series run me over going downhill?
+When in Follow mode, the Q Follow has downhill braking, meaning it will always remain a safe distance behind you when going down hills. However, if the ground is wet, the trolley may skid when braking downhill. For this scenario, we recommend using the Remote mode of operation when going downhill. If you are playing a shot when on a hill, we recommend parking your trolley sideways to prevent the trolley from gradually moving.
What is the distance range of the trolley?
+The Q Follow has a maximum range of 75m from the handset.
Battery
How long will the Q Follow battery last?
+The Q Follow is available with a Max capacity of 307 watt-hours of power. The average 18-hole round of golf consumes 135 watt-hours.
Every Q Follow golf trolley is supplied with a SmartPower battery, which connects to a free smartphone app. The app provides real time data on many aspects of the battery, but most importantly will tell you exactly how much capacity you have remaining. You will soon get to know how much you use on various courses and how consumption changes with conditions.
A hole of golf can be anything between 100 and 700 yards long, so is not a reliable unit of measurement, especially when you take the distance between green and tee into account too. Terrain, ground conditions, bag weight, and a number of other factors can make a big difference. Imagine running along a flat concrete road as opposed to up a steep sand dune, and you'll get the idea.
The quality of the golf also affects how far you walk. A golfer shooting 65 will walk a lot less than a golfer shooting 110 and zig-zagging up the fairways. This scenario would also see the steering being used more, which also consumes more power.
How often do I need to charge my battery?
+We advise charging your SmartPower battery after every round of golf, to ensure it has enough charge for your next round. The SmartPower battery can also be monitored via our Stewart Golf app, meaning you can always stay on top of your battery charge.
How often do I need to charge my handset?
+We advise charging your handset after every round of golf to ensure it has enough charge to last a full round. Typically, one full charge should last 2-3 rounds of golf.
Do I have to remove the SmartPower battery to charge it?
+Yes, you do need to remove the SmartPower battery to charge. The connections are concealed on the underside of the battery, so they are not exposed when in place.
What happens if the Q Follow battery or handset dies mid-round?
+If your Q Follow trolley battery or handset battery dies mid-round, you can place the rear wheels into freewheel mode, allowing you to push the trolley for the rest of the way around the course.
When will I know that the SmartPower battery is ready to use?
+The SmartPower battery is fully charged when the green light on the charger is visible. Alternatively, you can check the SmartPower battery app on your phone to see the real-time state of charge.
Can I play more than 18/36 holes in a day with my Q Follow?
+The average round of golf will consume 135 watt-hours of power from your Q Follow. However, it's difficult to predict the length of a round because each course and player is different. After a few rounds and checking the app, you will get a good indication of the maximum number of holes the Q Follow trolley can complete at your course.
How long does the battery take to recharge?
+The length of time it takes for the SmartPower battery to recharge depends on how much charge the battery has left when you place it on charge. A full battery charge cycle takes approximately six hours.
Cleaning & Use
How do I clean the Q Follow?
+After your round, clear any grass, leaves, and dust, etc from the Q Follow machine using a soft cloth/brush or compressed air. You can clean your Q Follow using standard furniture polish and a soft cloth.
Is the Q Follow trolley OK to use in the rain?
+Yes. The Q Follow golf trolley is designed for use in all conditions, including rain, appropriate for golf. The design of the Q Follow protects the major components from rain, so water ingress cannot occur during normal use. You should avoid any situation where moisture or water could reach the electronics or motors. Some examples to avoid are:
- Driving through puddles or standing water.
- Submerging the machine in a river or lake.
- Faults caused by water ingress will not be covered under the warranty.
