Are you a golfer..? Is your name Mark..? Fancy becoming an official world record holder..?
On Monday 21 September 2026, 88 golfers named Mark will come together at the historic Royal Blackheath Golf Club in an attempt to set a new England Golf world record and raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
Stewart Golf CEO Mark Stewart will be among those taking part in On Your Marks, which is aiming to create the largest golf competition made up entirely of players sharing the same first name.
The event was created by Mark Taylor, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022 and has since raised more than £300,000 for Prostate Cancer UK through a series of golfing challenges. On Your Marks is targeting a further £88,000 while using the shared name to start important conversations around prostate cancer, testing and early diagnosis.
With one in eight men in the UK diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime, it is a cause that will affect countless families. The funds raised through the event will support Prostate Cancer UK and vital research into better treatments.
A Golf Day with a Difference
Royal Blackheath Golf Club, the oldest golf club in England, is donating the use of its course for the record attempt. Entry costs £200 per player, with all entry fees supporting Prostate Cancer UK. The day includes:
- Breakfast, lunch and refreshments
- A World Record Holder shirt, cap, golf balls and other memorabilia
- An official England Golf world record certificate
- Competitions and prizes
- A memorable round of golf and a story for life
The event is already supported by a host of well-known Marks, including former Ryder Cup captain Mark James, six-time swimming world champion Mark Foster, former Premier League footballer Mark Bright and Academy Award-winning actor Sir Mark Rylance.
